FC Barcelona lifted their fifth Champions League trophy by beating Juventus 3-1, and by doing so, became the first team in history to get the "treble" twice, after winning the Copa del Rey, the Liga and the mentioned Champions League.
It was a vibrant match, without much football, but very exciting and tense. Barcelona came out strong and immediately put themselves ahead on the score sheet. Rakitic scored after what was an inredible team play. The assist went to Iniesta, who was named MVP of the final. Juventus looked to have started the match feeling nervous and it was nearly impossible for them to make 2 or 3 passes in a row. The first half went by dominated by the "azulgranas", but without much danger for Buffon's goal.
In the second half, Juventus seemed to shake off the nerves and began attacking Barça. This way, in the 55th minute, Morata tied the match after Tévez's initial shot was deflected by Ter Stegen. Juventus seemed to feel stronger and stronger and put fear into Barça's players and fans. But when Luis Enrique's players were at their worst... Messi appeared. He burst with one of his trademark plays, and although his shot was deflected by Buffon, the ball was left perfect for Luis Suárez to score Barça's second.
In the last moments of the match, Juventus nearly tied it, but on that same play, Neymar scored the third and final goal for Barcelona after a great counterattack.
It was a great end of the season for Barça, fair winners, and sad for Juventus, who will have to wait at least one more year to be crowned kings of Europe once again.
