Luis Suárez should be very happy about the great honour his hometown Salto, Uruguay, will express towards him. On December 18 the Barcelona and Uruguay player will receive a statue of himself.
The Uruguayan Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the regional authorities in Salto and Abitab, a local company for which Suárez did some publicity work, decided to work in this project to erect a memorial to Suárez.
One of the local officials explains that Suárez feels very honoured but he will not be able to attend to the ceremony of unveiling the statue.
The responsible sculptor Alberto Morales Saravia will construct the memorial with clay, resin and fibre-glass, weighing in the region of 50 to 60 kilograms.
The Statue will show Suarez "with his left arm resting by his side and his right raised with his trademark three fingers with a ball by his foot," said Morales Saravia. The great talented footballer will wear a ¡n Uruguay shirt.
We are excited about to see it. K5 fans, wouldn’t it be nice to have statues of yourselves?
